Welcome to the Ardmore Regional Housing Forum, our fifth event of the series! This forum will bring together local officials, community leaders, and housing stakeholders to discuss data and strategies for enhancing housing stability across Oklahoma and unveiling of the 2024 Oklahoma Housing Needs Assessment, which offers the latest data and insights to guide housing decisions. Attendees will also receive technical guidance on accessing state-supported housing programs to address Oklahoma’s evolving housing needs. We have an exciting lineup of speakers, including local officials and community leaders, and a detailed agenda of discussions and presentations. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Parking Directions:

Main parking is on the east side of the building, which is in the very front. The rooms you will be in are classrooms 1&2, from there, there will be directional signs in the Convention Center showing where to go.

  • Access to the Housing Needs Assessment: Please pre-register for the event by visiting housingdata.ohfa.org. This will ensure you have access to all materials and updates. Make sure to register online as a New User before the event. While bringing laptops or devices is optional, you are welcome to do so. However, it is crucial that you register in advance.

Francesco Cianfarani

Francesco Cianfarani is an architect and educator, currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture, and as the Associate Director for Curriculum and Assessments in the Division of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma. He earned his PhD in Architectural and Urban Design from Sapienza University of Rome’s  Dipartimento di Architettura e Progetto (DiAP). His research lies at the intersection of architecture and urban design, with a focus on housing. At OU, his teaching and research activities explore sustainable urban design practices and infill low-rise housing for Oklahoma City’s urban core.

Sabine Brown joined the Oklahoma Policy Institute as a Housing Senior Policy Analyst in January 2022. She previously worked at OK Policy from January 2018 until September 2020 as the Outreach and Legislative Director, and received a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa. Sabine also earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Health Science from the University of Oklahoma and was a physician assistant prior to discovering policy work. Sabine serves as a voting member of the Interagency Council on Homelessness of Oklahoma and the Chair of the Oklahoma Coalition for Affordable Housing Government Affairs committee. She grew up in Germany but has called Oklahoma home since 1998.

Steven C. Shepelwich is a Senior Community Affairs Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank, Oklahoma City Branch. In this role, he leads the Branch efforts to promote economic development and fair and impartial access to financial services in Oklahoma’s low- to moderate-income communities.  Mr. Shepelwich has worked in the community economic development field with financial institutions, microenterprise funds, and affordable housing and currently leads the Bank’s workforce development portfolio.  

Steve Sheplwich

Darrell Beavers is the Housing Development Director at the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency where he has responsibility for several affordable housing finance programs. He is also a college adjunct professor in finance and real estate , and is an active real estate broker and investor.

Darrell holds a JD and MBA. He holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the Nat’l Assoc. of Realtors, the Housing Development Finance Professional (HDFP) designation from the Nat’l Development Council, and the Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) designation from the Nat’l Assoc. of Homebuilders. He is a graduate of both the Executive Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame and the Oklahoma Governor’s Executive Development Program for State Officials.

Darrell Beavers

​Eliezer Vargas attended the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.  Eliezer Vargas is the Housing Stability Program Administrator at the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA). He is passionate about helping to provide affordable housing. He has a wealth of knowledge in OHFA’s development programs and is well versed in all areas surrounding OHFA’s application process.
