At Housing for Communities, our mission is rooted in creating safe, stable housing that supports individuals, families, and communities across Oklahoma. But behind every project and initiative are real people and real stories that bring this work to life.

In our latest video, we hear from David Lewis of Earthly Dwellings, who shares insight into the importance of housing and the impact it has on the communities we serve.

🎥 Watch the full story below:

David’s perspective highlights a key truthho, using is more than just a structure. It’s a foundation for stability, health, and opportunity. Whether it’s supporting aging populations, increasing accessibility, or expanding affordable housing options, the need for thoughtful, community-driven solutions continues to grow.

Through partnerships and collaboration, organizations like Earthly Dwellings are helping shape a future where more Oklahomans have access to housing that meets their needs at every stage of life.

On October 14, we hosted From Policy to Possibility: A Roadmap for Housing in Oklahoma — bringing together community leaders, housing partners, and advocates to explore data, share

experiences, and shape solutions for our state’s future.

Participants walked through the Statewide Housing Needs Maps, reviewed Regional Housing Forum findings, and discussed policy recommendations to guide local action.

A huge thank-you to our speakers, facilitators, and everyone who joined us for thoughtful dialogue and collaboration toward creating more equitable housing opportunities across Oklahoma.

🙏 Special thanks to our event sponsor, the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA), for supporting this important work and helping make the day possible.
